Milton Cobras have to be considered a surprise finalist but take nothing away from this team who earned the right to play in their first Cup final. Led by coach Mark Roberts, he put together this team back in 2007 made up mostly of Peel Police’s finest soccer players and they have improved in each of the three seasons they have been in the league. They are finally being rewarded for that determination that make them a tough opposition on any given Sunday. Their opponent, GTA Hotspurs are looking to put a stamp on a successful first season in the league by adding their name to the coveted MSL Cup trophy. To no one’s surprise GTA Hotspurs are appearing in the final after defeating three difficult opponents including the division one and two league champions. Led by striker, Mike Ventrella who poses a threat anytime he touches the ball, something the Cobras defence will have to be wary of. GTA must be considered slight favourites heading into Sunday based on their current form and the fact they have beaten the Cobras already this season but that was way back in May. In this game of winner take all, anything can and likely will happen.

The women’s final will feature two teams who know each other very well even before the Milton Soccer League was formed back in 2007. Friends to some but come Sunday afternoon bitter rivals; Hurricanes and Starz United will take the pitch in search of etching their name in Milton Soccer League history. The Hurricanes won the league crown without dropping a single point and led the league in virtually every statistical category. They do look to erase the defeat from last year’s Cup final at the hands of the Panthers. Starz United make their first Cup finals appearance and will need no extra motivation in this match. They were eliminated in last year’s semi-final by the same Hurricanes squad that they will face Sunday. Although the Hurricanes lead the all-time series including two wins already this season, the Starz have the player personnel to end the Hurricanes perfect season and once again deny the Hurricanes the coveted MSL Cup title.
